Seal stone is a natural stone specially used for seal carving. It must have fine texture, stable color and suitable hardness (2-3 degrees on the Mohs scale). The four famous stones in China are Shoushan Stone (Tianhuang Stone is called the Stone Emperor), Qingtian Stone (Dengguangdong is called the Stone Queen), Changhua Stone (Chicken Blood Stone is called the Stone Queen) and Balin Stone (Fuhuang Stone is famous in the grassland), all of which are famous for their unique texture, color and cultural heritage. Since the end of the Yuan Dynasty, literati began to carve seals with flower milk stone. It has both practicality and artistry, carries the essence of seal carving culture, and has become the core carrier of calligraphy and painting, with both collection value and spiritual symbolism.
